WATERLOO, Ont. (Aug. 8, 2012) - Wilfrid Laurier Golf head coach Jim Zwolak announced today the training camp and tryout information for the upcoming season.
This year's Golden Hawk Golf training camp will be held on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 at Grey Silo Golf Club. The camp is an opportunity to meet the coaches and see the golf course in advance of the tryout. There are limited spots in the tryout and preference will be given to players who have attended camp. Players can expect to be evaluated on all aspects of the game both in practice and on-course situations. Both male and female players are encouraged to attend. At minimum, players will leave camp with a good idea on how to improve their golf in the coming years.
For the men's golf team, tryouts will be held on Wednesday, September 5 and Thursday, September 6, during Orientation Week. Again, spots in the final tryout will be limited to the top recruits, players with a strong competitive resume, and players who have performed at the training camp. This will be a 36-hole competition.
Training camp is $150, covering 36 hole green fees, meals both days and access to all evaluations and coaching feedback. Tryouts are $100 for the 36 hole event.
