New Yorkers have yet another candidate to consider in the crowded race for mayor, as Jack Hidary, a Brooklyn-born tech millionaire, announced his campaign Wednesday.

He will run as an independent in a self-created line called the "Jobs and Education" Party.

The name reflects what he says he'll bring to the race: experience creating jobs and new ideas on education.

He was a guest on NY1's Road to City Hall Wednesday.

"I'm really the only one in the race who's created companies in the growth sectors but also has done a lot of public service in education and low-income development," Hidary said.

Hidary told NY1 that he will crowd-fund his campaign using special software built into the public campaign financing system.

He'll also spend some of his own money that he earned creating an IT job-posting site called dice.com.
