Sudan-Kenya relations normal after visit (AP)

NAIROBI, Kenya ? Kenya's foreign minister says Sudan has lifted punitive measures against Kenya that Sudan issued after a judge ruled that Sudan President Omar al-Bashir must be arrested if he visits Kenya again.

Kenyan Foreign Minister Moses Wetangula said Friday he met with al-Bashir and explained the judgment was in error and said the Kenyan government is appealing it.

A court on Monday ruled that Kenya must arrest al-Bashir if he visits Kenya again and hand him over to the International Criminal Court, where he is wanted for crimes against humanity.

Sudan, in retaliation, ordered the expulsion of Kenya's ambassador and said it would expel Kenyan citizens, sever trade ties and close Sudanese airspace to flights traveling to and from Kenya.
