DataCore, VirtualSharp Partner for Disaster Recovery | TalkinCloud

DataCore Software and VirtualSharp Software have partnered in the hopes of alleviating some of the pain experienced by IT departments and ther trusted advisers involved in creating and putting into place a disaster recovery plan.

Storage hypervisor and storage virtualization provider DataCore and VirtualSharp, a provider of automated disaster recovery products for private and public clouds, have launched Disaster Recovery Assurance, a solution the companies promise will give customers more peace of mind and stronger business continuity.

According to Gartner vice president John Morency, the time and resource costs of disaster recovery planning ? particularly when supported by manual or semi-manual processes ? have become the most significant discovery recovery management pain point for the research firm?s customers.

And in this fast-paced business world, an outage can mean the difference between surviving in a tough market or not.

DataCore and VirtualSharp have combined the former?s SANsymphony-V hypervisor with the latter?s ReliableDR for automated disaster recovery and ?guaranteed push-button failover and failback across clouds.? The two companies also claim to make disaster recovery simpler, certain and more affordable for businesses.

?Together with VirtualSharp, we are bringing complete assurance to the cloud and grant IT administrators the peace of mind knowing their information will always be protected and retrievable,? said Carlos M. Carreras, vice president of alliances and business development at DataCore, in a prepared statement.

In that same statement, Carlos Escapa, co-founder and CEO of VirtualSharp, noted, ?Virtualization?s benefits now extend to storage, and DataCore?s storage hypervisor makes storage more efficient and agile for thousands of companies worldwide. It was an easy decision to partner with DataCore to make business continuity and disaster recovery simpler, certain and more affordable.?

Both companies work with channel partners to bring their products to market, so there should be opportunities for solutions providers going forward. The value seems to be in making disaster recovery easier for businesses, particularly ones that have avoided it because of the complexities and costs involved in making it happen.
